A Greeting From Our Pastor

Dear Friend:
We are glad you are visiting First Presbyterian Church's web site! First Presbyterian tries to be an inviting Church. Our members love God and one another, and we try to live out that love through quality worship and education, enjoyable fellowship, and meaningful service.
First Presbyterian tries to be a relevant church. We're intentional about discovering ways that our faith relates to the practical realities of our lives, our vocations, the stresses and joys of everyday life.
First Presbyterian tries to be an inclusive church. We're growing. New members include those with young families, retirees, couples, singles and blended families. We have a good mixture of conservatives and liberals and a lot of folks in between. We like diversity because it affords the wonderful opportunity to experience the greatness of God and to learn from one another.
First Presbyterian tries to be a holistic church. We prize both the intellectual and the emotional sides of life. Through new ideas, the joys and sorrows we experience together, we cultivate the soil out of which a deeper love for God and one another will grow. Heart and mind do belong together in the glad service of God.
One thing I enjoy most about being a pastor is the opportunity to meet people like you who have taken the time to learn more about us. I delight in meeting people who are intentional about their spiritual journey. I often get to visit with persons like you, and I always find myself learning and discovering my own faith being deepened.
I used the words "First Presbyterian tries to be..." several times in this welcome. That's all anyone or any church can do. We are not yet fully who and what we would like to be. But we are going in the right direction. Consider traveling with us.
Browse our site, and email us at office@firstpreswaco.org if you have any unanswered questions or are interested in joining our congregation. All the resources of our church are yours because you are Christ's.
God bless!
Jimmie Johnson, Minister
